The new hybrid operating room, slated to open at the start of 2019, is designed to combine state-of-the-art, real-time imaging capabilities with surgical equipment. The goal is to provide an optimal environment for all cross-discipline clinical teams working together in the room. According to Heather Shroyer, RN, BSN, Director of Surgery/PACU/Central Sterile, “The hybrid operating roomwill be utilized for both surgical cases and interventional radiology services, including spine surgeries and other procedures based on the case load each day.” Patients can also benefit from the construction of this modernized and efficient care concept: Better communication among clinical staff results in enhanced patient safety, shorter recovery times and decreased risk for complications. and then smoothly flow into one of four individual registration rooms, specifically designed with each patient’s privacy in mind. “Patients and visitors love the more spacious setting!
