Staying hydrated can help you avoid problems such as constipation, hemorrhoids, urinary tract infections and premature labor. • • Talk to your doctor about how you can safely stay active. Exercise can help ease or prevent common pregnancy problems such as constipation, varicose veins and backaches. It may also help you sleep better, lessen the risk of depression and speed recovery after you give birth. • • Take a folic acid supplement every day, throughout your pregnancy. Just 400 micrograms per day, leading up to and during the first few months of pregnancy, can help prevent up to 70 percent of some birth defects. Start your prenatal care today!
