GibsonHospital.org 4 Orthopaedic surgeon teaches next generation Gibson Area Hospital Orthopaedic Surgeon Jason Ye, MD, has recently been promoted to clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Passionate about helping his patients heal from injuries or pain to regain their independence and quality of life, Dr. Ye approaches teaching today’s medical students with a particular goal: “I hope to instill this same passion in the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.” Dr. Ye earned his undergraduate degree at Brown University in Rhode Island and his MD (doctor of medicine) and MBA (master of business administration) degrees from Columbia University in New York. He completed his residency in Pennsylvania at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center while serving as its administrative chief resident. Happy trails to Dr. Youngerman William Youngerman, MD, a visiting ear, nose and throat specialist at Gibson Area Hospital (GAH) for over 35 years, saw his last patients at the GAH Outpatient Clinic on Sept. 12. The Christie Clinic–based otolaryngologist from Champaign was given a special thank-you celebration by hospital administration and staff. The Gibson community is grateful for Dr. Youngerman’s many years of service and commitment to the care of patients at Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services. Dr. Youngerman is confident that his colleague Ashok Jagasia, MD, PhD, will continue to serve patients well at GAH. Dr. Jagasia, who is also a faculty member of Rush Medical College, has expertise in both pediatric and adult otolaryngology. He sees patients in the Outpatient Clinic and performs surgery at GAH. Breakfast of champions Gibson Area Hospital (GAH) welcomed the Prairie Cycle Club (PCC) in August during their annual bike tour that included a ride through Gibson City. GAH Orthopaedic Surgeon Chris Dangles, MD, a member of the PCC, organized the stop at the hospital. The Prairie Harvest Cafe staff took good care of the energetic pack of more than 130 cyclists, who stopped for breakfast to fuel the rest of their journey.
