THANKS TO GENEROUS donor support to the Gibson Area Hospital (GAH) Foundation, four hospital departments— medical/surgical and ICU, emergency medical services (EMS), pre-op, and obstetrics (OB)—were able to purchase equipment for enhanced patient care. patient care Enhancing Facebook “f”Logo CMYK / .ai Emergency care The purchase of a Passport 8 transport monitor—proposed by Amanda Quinlan and Jen Eisenmann, Co-Directors of Med/Surg and ICU— allows nurses and certified nursing assistants to closely monitor patient’s oxygenation, blood pressure and heart rate with ease during emergencies or while transporting a patient throughout the hospital for various tests. A small rapid-response SUV purchased by the foundation, in conjunction with the GAH Auxiliary, will have a large impact, providing life-support care until an ambulance is able to reach the scene. Also added to the ambulance lineup was a replacement for an older model. According to Gregory Scott, Director of EMS, “This ambulance brings the latest technology and safety features to the GAH Ambulance Service fleet. The EMS department is extremely appreciative of the continued support by the foundation.”
