Gibson gets it! 9 Meet Dr. Patel Pulmonologist and sleep medicine specialist Saurin G. Patel, MD*, sees patients at the Gibson Area Hospital Sleep Disorder Center, 1120 N. Melvin St., Gibson City. Dr. Patel earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Try to wake up and go to bed at the same times every day, even on weekends. Set the mood. Keep your bedroom quiet, cool and dark. Get a better night’s sleep Most adults need at least seven hours of sleep every day. These six tips can help you get them. Rest assured! Turn off electronics at least 30 minutes before tucking in. Screen light can make it hard to nod off. Be active. But avoid strenuous exercise an hour before heading off to dreamland. Mind your meals.
