Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services | Gibson gets it! | Spring/Summer 2020
GibsonHospital.org 8 “I’m able to get testing done here rather than travel to Indianapolis where I had my lung transplant. Now I only have to go to Indy every six months. To be honest, it would have been a lot harder for me in the beginning if I hadn’t been able to come here. It makes a difference to have people here who know what you’ve gone through and understand what you’re currently going through. You’re not just a number at Gibson. It’s on a personal level.” —Tom Stuckey, a cardiopulmonary care patient, recipient of a double lung transplant and a Gibson City community volunteer Lauri Brown, RRT, prompts Tom Stuckey through his full pulmonary function test. Stuckey received a lung transplant to heal his COPD. He now counts on GAH Cardiopulmonary Care (CPC) to perform the tests ordered by his transplant doctors in Indianapolis.
