Gibson gets it! 23 Give the gift of love and light Holidays are a time for family and friends! This holiday season, honor your loved ones or keep the memories alive with a charitable gift to Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary. Your gift will be celebrated with the Love Lights a Tree holiday light display and fundraiser Nov. 1, 2018, through Jan. 1, 2019. The Auxiliary is especially grateful to last year’s campaign donors who generously gave over $22,000 to enhance patient care, making it possible to purchase specialty equipment for several departments throughout the hospital, including pre-op, obstetrics, employee health, infection control and emergency medical services. A wonderful way to give Lifelong Gibson City resident Val Hunt, a founding member of the Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary and a current hospital volunteer, has been giving to the Love Lights a Tree holiday light display and fundraiser since its inception. She gives in honor of her late husband, Tom Hunt. “Others give for their friends, but I do this because it honors loved ones,” Hunt says. “I feel like I’m contributing to help the Auxiliary reach their goal so the hospital can get what they need.” As someone who has witnessed over six decades of improvements and expansions at the hospital, Hunt knows the impact that generosity can make, and she understands what makes Gibson Area Hospital special. Not only is it the birthplace of her own two children, but two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren were also born here. “The hospital is such an important facility,” she says. “People move here just to be close.” clip and mail!
